Leatherworking WoW Forever leveling guide 1-300
Example guide: undead rogue (Horde, WoW Forever). Create your character to get yours.
Leatherworking step by step
Leatherworking is a crafting profession: you turn leather, hides and scales into leather and mail armor, armor kits and a few bags. The gear you make is useful for classes that wear leather and mail, and armor kits give a small boost to any piece of equipment.
It suits rogues, druids, hunters and shamans first, and any class that wants armor kits. The cost is high, because recipes use a lot of leather, and the time spent is long. Some recipes require a specialization or a quest, which your guide marks.
The classic combination is Skinning with Leatherworking: you skin beasts as you level and feed the leather straight into your recipes. It uses one of your two primary slots. Without Skinning, expect to buy much of the leather you need.

Frequently asked questions
- Which profession pairs best with Leatherworking?
- Skinning. You skin the beasts you kill while leveling and use the leather in your recipes, which removes much of the material cost. Without it, expect to buy leather, which raises the price noticeably.
- Which classes benefit most from Leatherworking?
- Rogues, druids, hunters and shamans, because they wear leather or mail and can equip what they craft. Any class can still use armor kits to improve its equipment with a small, steady boost.
- Is Leatherworking expensive to level?
- Yes, it is one of the costlier professions because recipes use a lot of leather. Skinning your own leather and following the guide's shopping list keep the cost much lower than buying everything.
