Cooking WoW Forever leveling guide 1-300
Example guide: undead rogue (Horde, WoW Forever). Create your character to get yours.
Cooking step by step
Cooking is a secondary profession: you cook the meat and fish you collect into food that restores health or mana while you sit and eat. It is cheap and saves you from buying food between fights.
Every class can use it, and it helps most when you fight without a healer or a strong self-heal, such as warriors, rogues and hunters. The cost is low, and the time spent is small, because you cook at any campfire along the route. Some recipes come from quests or vendors, so the guide tells you when to pick them up.
Cooking pairs naturally with Fishing, which supplies fish, and it does not use one of your two primary profession slots. In WoW Forever, cooking at a campfire also fits the rested experience rules, so it is easy to fit into a pause.

Frequently asked questions
- Is Cooking worth it while leveling?
- Yes. It costs very little, and the food you cook replaces what you would otherwise buy. Your health and mana come back faster between fights, so you spend less time resting and more time questing.
- What goes well with Cooking?
- Fishing is the natural partner, because it gives you fish to cook. Both are secondary professions, so you can take them together and still keep your two primary professions.
- Do I need a campfire to cook?
- You need a fire to cook. Inns and many camps have one, and in WoW Forever you can also learn to build your own campfire. Your guide places a cooking stop where it makes sense along your route.
