However is a free, unofficial leveling guide for WoW Forever. It builds a step-by-step route from your class and race, then shows every quest, kill and trip on the map. This page explains the shared Horde route from level 10 to 60. Your own guide adapts it to your character.
How the Horde route works in WoW Forever
Each Horde race starts in its own zone up to level 10: Durotar for orcs and trolls, Mulgore for tauren, Tirisfal Glades for the undead. From level 10, every Horde character joins the same route, split into level brackets. Each bracket has main zones, safe alternatives and optional zones.
- 10-20: Silverpine Forest, from The Sepulcher. The Barrens (northern part) and Durotar are fallbacks.
- 20-30: Hillsbrad Foothills (Tarren Mill), then The Barrens. Stonetalon Mountains and Thousand Needles are quieter options.
- 30-40: Desolace, Thousand Needles, then Swamp of Sorrows (Stonard). Arathi Highlands and Dustwallow Marsh are optional.
- 40-50: Tanaris (Gadgetzan) and Feralas (Camp Mojache). Badlands, The Hinterlands and Azshara are alternatives.
- 50-60: Un'Goro Crater, Felwood, then Winterspring (Everlook). Moonglade, Silithus and the Plaguelands are optional.
Zeppelins link Orgrimmar, Undercity and Grom'gol, and the goblin boat links Ratchet to Booty Bay. The guide places these trips, your hearthstone and your flight paths for you.
WoW Forever keeps levels 1 to 60, without level scaling and without flying. Dungeons are one-and-done: their quests give a lot of experience on the first run, while dungeon monsters give less experience. Rested experience builds up at inns and campfires. The route is built around these rules.
Tips for each bracket
Levels 10-20
- The Sepulcher has a flight point, an inn and a poison vendor: bind your hearthstone there.
- Silverpine Forest has enough green and yellow quests up to level 18.
- If Silverpine is crowded, move to the northern Barrens around the Crossroads.
- Ragefire Chasm (13-18), Wailing Caverns (15-25), Shadowfang Keep (18-25) and, in Forever, the Ruins of Lordaeron (15-20) are on the way.
Levels 20-30
- Tarren Mill and Southshore face each other in Hillsbrad: avoid the quests below the Alliance town on a PvP realm.
- The northern Barrens are fairly quiet; the south (Camp Taurajo, the marshes) is contested.
- Stonetalon Mountains are a good safe fallback around 25-30.
- Blackfathom Deeps, Razorfen Kraul and the first Scarlet Monastery wings fit this bracket.
Levels 30-40
- Desolace has few Alliance players and centaurs to farm that are not elite.
- Stranglethorn Vale is the busiest PvP zone: the route leaves it out of the main order.
- In Swamp of Sorrows, avoid the elites around the Temple of Atal'Hakkar.
- Riverglades, a new Forever zone, is listed for farming only: no Horde quests are loaded there yet.
Levels 40-50
- Gadgetzan is neutral, with an inn and a flight point; avoid the bandit camps east of Tanaris at night.
- Camp Mojache is a quiet Horde hub with an inn and a flight point.
- Azshara is almost deserted: its green and yellow quests are safe.
- Zul'Farrak, Maraudon and Uldaman are close to this part of the route.
Levels 50-60
- Un'Goro Crater is enclosed and calm, with plenty of skinning and mining.
- In Felwood, Bloodvenom Post has a Horde flight point; avoid the demon elites of Jaedenar.
- Everlook, in Winterspring, is neutral and has an inn.
- Mount Hyjal is a level 60 Forever zone, used for farming only for now.

Frequently asked questions
- How long does 1-60 take as Horde?
- It depends on your class, your race and how you play. Your guide shows an estimated time for each chapter, so you can see how long each part of the route should take for your own character.
- Which zones first?
- After your starting zone, the Horde route goes to Silverpine Forest from level 10, then Hillsbrad Foothills and The Barrens, Desolace and Thousand Needles, Tanaris and Feralas, and finally Un'Goro Crater, Felwood and Winterspring.
- Which dungeons are worth running?
- In WoW Forever, dungeons are one-and-done: their quests give a lot of experience on the first run, while monsters inside give less. Run each dungeon on the route once with its quests, such as Ragefire Chasm, Wailing Caverns or Shadowfang Keep.
- Does the route work on PvP realms?
- Yes. The guide takes your realm type into account. On a PvP realm, hot zones such as Stranglethorn Vale and Hillsbrad Foothills weigh more heavily, and safer alternatives like Stonetalon Mountains or Desolace are preferred.
- Is this the same as a Classic Horde route?
- The zones are close to a Classic route, but WoW Forever changes the rules: dungeons are one-and-done, rested experience also comes from campfires, and new zones and dungeons such as Riverglades, Mount Hyjal and the Ruins of Lordaeron appear along the way.
